Through the years,
I’ve been a laborer
on a cotton farm,
a worker in factories
(for auto parts and axe handles),
an office boy,
a junkyard sifter,
a newspaper reporter,
a writer—and (for decades now)
a day-job book editor.
I’ve always enjoyed reading—
history, biographies,
and stories and poems.
I live with my wife of forty-some years
in the evening shadow of the Cascade Mountains
in central Oregon USA. We’re blessed
with five married children and sixteen grandchildren.
